What are some plausible causes for an airplane engine to catch fire?

It may depend on the type of engine also.
1. the engine was shot by enemy aircraft, resulting in it flaming out
2. something crashes through the jet turbines causing an explosion (eg. bird, debris)
3. anti aircraft missile exploding close to the engine sending tons of shrapnel penetrating the engine and indirectly causing an explosion
4. fuel leaking out?
